Gary John Erwin Gary J. Erwin passed away peacefully on October 28, 2013 while on vacation in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Gary was born to Francis and Phyllis Erwin on August 31, 1940 in Penn Yan, New York, and had a happy childhood playing little league baseball and basketball. He moved to Tacoma in 1960, soon married Edie, and raised 2 beautiful daughters. He worked for many years in automotive management and retired in 2000. He loved music; his favorite band was Chicago and he attended more than 30 concerts. He spent his retirement years attending his grandchildren's sporting events, recitals, and concerts, golfing, bowling, baseball vacations with his good friend Clay, annual trips to New York with lifelong friend Dick (Rico) Reed, and watching ball games with his buddies at Rollie's. Family was everything to Gary, and he leaves behind many loved ones. He is survived by his daughters Jodi Veitenhans (Jerry) and Christi Ortiz (Pablo), grandchildren Jesse Roberson and Carmen Ortiz, brothers Donald (Lou), Robert (Betty), and Douglas (Judy), sister Janice Donion (Wally), and 10 nieces and nephews.
