Lenore Amelia Ericson Went to be with our Lord January 23, 2014. Lenore was born in Trade Lake, WI on October 17th, 1917. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in education. Lenore taught school in Racine, WI for two years before coming to Puyallup in 1949 (the year of the big earthquake) as she phrased it. Lenore was a life-long member of Bethany Baptist Church, and held many positions in the church throughout the years. She was Sunday School Superintendent for 25 years, taught Sunday School to countless young people, and served as the church clerk. Lenore taught English at East Jr. High (now Kalles) for more than 35 years. She received the Golden Acorn award from Kalles, and was very proud to have the "Lenore Ericson Language Arts Award" given to an outstanding student each year, an award that was named on her behalf. Lenore, being an English teacher, was a real wordsmith. She loved her crosswords and women's book club. She was an avid reader and a fine musician. Lenore played the piano quite well, and often for church services. Lenore was preceded in death by her sister Margery Hogman of Puyallup, and her brother Leon Ericson of Wisconsin. She is survived by brother-in-law Manford Hogman, sister-in-law Ruth Ericson, nieces and nephews Sherill Pederson, Philip and Scott Hogman, Noel White, Linsey Schott, Tim and Joel Ericson, and their spouses. Lenore loved the holiday season with family, especially Christmas. Lenore had many friends, but none closer than Laura, Sue and Lorna. Services will beheld at Bethany Baptist Church on February 8th at 3:00PM. Donations can be made in her name to the Kalles Jr. High A.S.B. fund in Puyallup, WA.
