Terrence (Terry) Lynn Gibson Age 63, of Gig Harbor, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, after a long battle with brain cancer. He was born in Davenport, IA on September 29, 1950 to the late Gerald K. and Delores Gibson. Terry graduated from Rock Island High School and received a B.S. in civil engineering in 1972 and an M.S. in engineering in 1974 from University of Illinois. Terry was a beloved member of the community, and would frequently be found socializing and playing bridge, softball, and golf. He was founding President of Gibson Traffic Consultants and past president of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), chairing the golf tournament for over 20 years. Terry received ITE Outstanding Achievement award in 2001 and ITE Western District award in 2007. Terry is survived by his brother Gerald M. Gibson of Kansas City, sister Cynthia Gibson of Atlanta, and his six children, Angela Jacobson of Issaquah, Jennifer Kromholtz of Lynnwood, Carrie Murillo-Oaks of Fairwood, Kimberly Coleman of Auburn, and Chandler and Grant Gibson of Gig Harbor. He is also survived by seven grandchildren. A memorial will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 16th, at Canterwood Golf and Country Club in Gig Harbor.
