Werner Josef Amrein Werner Josef Amrein was born July 9, 1920 in Lucerne, Switzerland to Anna and Josef Amrein. He was preceded in death by sisters Adele, Frieda, Margrit, and Erna, brother Ernst, both parents, and son Peter. In Switzerland, Werner worked as a bookbinder, and then served in the Swiss Army until the end of World War II. After the war, Werner worked as conductor on a Lucerne streetcar and on a boat on Lake Lucerne. In August 1949 Werner left Switzerland for Tacoma, and was married to Mary Lou Ponton. For the next 31 years Werner worked at Flett Dairy. He has been married to Dorothy Canale Johnson since 1979. Werner is survived by his wife Dorothy, son William Priedhorsky, daughter Emily Anne Salter, daughter-in-law Debra Priedhorsky, stepsons Lee, Larry, and Robert Johnson, nephews Charles Troxler and Ernst Strahm, and brother-in-law Othmar Schilli in Switzerland, 6 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Werner was a member of the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Milton, a Life Member of the Swiss Society and Swiss Sportsman Club, and a member of the Eagles, Elks, Fife Lions Club, and Teamsters Union. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 11:00am at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery.
