Bernice Elizabeth "Bunny" Bouton Born September 18, 1915 Oneonta, NY, Bunny passed peacefully at home on January 12, 2014 at 98 years of age. She lived a long and rich life as mother to three, wife and best friend of her husband, Jerry, businesswoman and tireless volunteer. Her life's journey took her to many cities, but she raised her family primarily in Syracuse, New York where she also managed the family business, Midstate Research. Even with her work and three growing children, she found time for service as a member and then president of the Welcome Wagon Club. She and Jerry moved to Tucson in 1971 to care for her father and happily stayed until her death. She worked as the Southwest representative for several greeting card and gift companies, winning the award for greatest expansion of sales at age 65. After retirement, she remained active into her mid 90's in the Moose, Elk and American Legion Auxiliaries serving as both member and officer from time to time. Bunny also volunteered countless hours serving our veterans at the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System. Bunny was predeceased by her husband, Jerry, her sister and her husband, Marguerite and Jim O'Hara of Huntsville, AL; son-in- law, John J. Rorke of Tucson and her grandson, Jerry Bouton III. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Rorke of Tucson; son, Jerry Bouton Jr. and daughter-in- law, Brenda, of Tucson; her daughter, Linda Robinson and Bruce Angier of Arlinton, VA. She has five grandchildren, Kenyon Salo, Michael Robinson, Blys Grad, John J Rorke and Patty Bouton. There are also six great- grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 20, 2014, 1:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge 2663, 4684 N. Highway Dr., Tucson. This Spring, she will be interred in Oneonta, NY, where she will rejoin her husband. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to American Legion Unit 7 or Elks Lodge 2663.
