Edward Joseph Matty 3/18/1925 - 7/28/2013 Born in Periopolis, Penn., Edward served as a code-breaker in WWII. He always joked that he was guaranteed protection because of his skills, so he never had to worry about his safety. In 1949, he studied at University of Washington, where he met his 'lovely Desdemona', Carol Lovrien. They were married in Tucson, Arizona in 1951 and enjoyed 62 years of marriage, raised six children and were very fond of their 14 grandchildren. They designed and built the home where they resided for 59 years. Edward became the head of the math department at Sunnyside High School and earned his Doctorate in Statistics. He also assisted with the statistics for the high school football team for 25 seasons AFTER he retired! Edward, who was fondly known as 'Dadeo', loved to travel! During his final days he talked endlessly about his travels to more than 38 countries and how much he cherished the memories! He always went out of his way to learn the language of the country he was visiting so he could communicate with the natives and learn more about them! As he takes his final resting place with his son, Lance; daughter, Monica and grandson, Daniel, he can truthfully and wholeheartedly say, 'I did it MY way!' Arrangements by HUDGEL'S.
