Eugene Nickey 'Nick' Guirl age 91, Shoreline, WA, formerly of Tucson, AZ, died June 23, 2014. Eugene was born July 17, 1922 in New Orleans, LA to George and Emma (Litton) Guirl. Eugene grew up in Illinois. He served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After graduation from college, Eugene was employed as a school teacher in Minnesota. Following his first wife Jeanne's death from kidney disease in 1951, he moved with his sons, ages seven and three, to Dearborn, Michigan, where he worked in employee training for Ford Motor Company from 1952 to 1960. Eugene married Marjorie G. Sturman in 1953. He was a high school and elementary school principal for the Tucson Unified School District from 1961 until his retirement in 1986. Eugene was a founding member of El Camino Baptist Church in Tucson, AZ, where he served in various leadership positions. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; sons, Craig (Jeanne) Wallin of Anacortes, WA and Tim (Deb) Guirl of Shoreline, WA; brother, Russell Guirl of Sheridan, AR and two grandchildren, Peter and Amy Farrar of Seattle, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Allen Guirl. A Memorial Service was held Saturday, July 5, 2014 at King's Chapel in Shoreline, WA. Memorial gifts may be made to El Camino Church in Tucson, AZ. Arrangements by PEOPLE'S MEMORIAL FUNERAL.
