Joseph A. Martin 83, born August 7, 1930 a lifetime resident of Tucson, AZ passed away peacefully on March 18, 2014 in the care of Canyon view Adult Care Home and Casa de La Luz Hospice. Preceded in death by his loving wife Alzalee "Lee", son John, parents James and Ellen Martin, and siblings Frances, James Jr. and John "Jack". He is survived by his two daughters, Theresa (Joe) Ricke and Erin (Larry) Gefre; grandchildren, Douglas (Frances), John, David and Laura; three great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Joe was a graduate of Tucson High School Class of 1948. He served in the Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Washburn. He then served in the SeaBees (Naval Construction Battalion). Joe was a 60 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 570 (IBEW). He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3435 North 1st Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85719. Officiating VFW Post 10188.
