Richard L. Keefe 7/1/1931 - 1/8/2013 Richard L. "Dick" Keefe, 81, passed away January 8, 2013 at home, surrounded by his family. He was a native of Tucson and a member of the first Tucson Boys Chorus. Dick graduated from Tucson High in 1949. He attended the University of Arizona where he received his B.S. in education in 1953. Dick played both football and baseball for the U of A. He joined the U.S. Air force in 1954 where he served as a pilot. For many years he was a liaison officer for the Air Force Academy. Dick returned to the U of A to earn his law degree in 1960 and practiced in the Old Pueblo for over 50 years. Dick was a co-founder of Arizona Families for Children (AFFC); a child advocacy group that specializes in helping waiting children find adoptive families. He devoted a great deal of time and effort to its success resulting in many children finding homes. For the past 25 years, Dick organized and produced the Celebrity Bowling Event to benefit AFFC. He enjoyed RVing with his family, the Cincinnati Reds, old westerns, classical music and was an avid Wildcat fan. He is survived by his wife, Anne; his children, Rick (Maritza), Shari (Jerry), Colleen, Johnny (Anna), Joey (Frank), Tommy (Emelda), Marina, Jamie (Stefanie), Randi (Michael), Danny, Stephanie and his grandchildren, Corey, Kelsey, Kiley, Kirah, Jolanie, Jasanna, Jordan, Steven, Daniel, Emilio, Zoey, Amari and Tiffany. The family is grateful to the caregivers from TMC Hospice. Services will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Christ Kingdom Fellowship at Mount Sinai Church at 1724 W. San Marcos Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85713. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arizona Families for Children, the , or a . Arrangements by DESERT ROSE.
