Robert Candelaria Lost his courageous three year battle with lymphoma cancer on August 20, 2013. Bob was born September 9, 1937 to Nicholas Candelaria and Theresita (nee Chavez) in Manzano, New Mexico. He graduated from Mountain Air High School in 1955. Upon graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and began his marriage of 58 years to Mollie (nee Gallegos). He was stationed in San Diego and Oahu, Hawaii until his honorable discharge in 1959. He returned to Albuquerque and became a fireman for the city. During this time he studied and graduated from St. Joseph College. Following graduation he became a special agent for B.N.D.D. (Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs) which later became the D.E.A. (Drug Enforcement Administration). While working for the D.E.A. he was stationed in Albuquerque, N.M., Nogales, AZ and Caracas, Valenzuela where he was Special Agent in Charge for the DEA, and County Attaché at the U.S. Embassy. His final assignment was in San Diego where he was Agent in Charge of the intelligence Division. He retired in 1994 with Distinction and High Honors receiving the highest awards possible for a DEA agent in the U.S. and in Valenzuela. He retired to Tucson, AZ where he became a founding partner of R.E.T. Monitoring Inc. with Tom Gomez. He is preceded in death by two sons, Nicholas and Steven. He is survived by his loving wife, Mollie and six sons, Jude, Mark, Anthony (Kathleen), Charlie (Maria), Vincent Paul and Chris (Mylisa) and 27 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, his brother, Albert (Jan); sisters, Marcella (Virgil) and Stella (Napoleon); one uncle, two aunts and many nephews and nieces and daughter-in-law, Georgia. Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 26, 2013 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1300 N. Greasewood Rd. In lieu of flowers, Masses can be said. Arrangements by HUDGEL'S SWAN FUNERAL HOME.
