Virginia Lou Jewell 73, of Oro Valley, Arizona, died peacefully in her home, Thursday, October 31, 2013. She was born June 8, 1940 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to David and Euphemia Mills. She married Douglas F. Jewell on June 23, 1961 and he survives. Also surviving are her son, David D. Jewell of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter, Kelli J. Alexander, of Tucson, Arizona and grandsons, Avery and Ethan Jewell of Katy, Texas. Virginia was Valedictorian of her graduating class at Rockford High School, Rockford, Michigan. She received her Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University in 1961 and was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority. She earned her master's degree from Indiana University in 1978 and taught at the prestigious Brebeuf Preparatory School in Indianapolis, Indiana. She loved golf, bridge, music and traveling. During their retirement she and her husband visited over 100 countries and all seven continents. Virginia and her husband moved from Bloomington, Indiana to Tucson in 2008 and were members of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Services will be held in the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Chapel at the corner of North Paseo Del Norte Dr. and Chapala Dr. on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the
