Virginia Mae Sargent born March 1, 1919 passed into eternal rest on July 31, 2014. Her husband, Alwin H. Sargent, Lt. Col, precedes her in death. In her 95 years, she lived a joyous and adventurous life as a woman of faith, determination and conviction. As a young woman, she graduated from UCLA where she was a member of the tennis team. After traveling all across the world with her husband who proudly served in the US Air Force, they settled with their family in Tucson, AZ. She graduated from the UofA and went on to become a loved and respected teacher in the Vail and Tucson Unified school districts for several decades. She enjoyed politics, bridge and was an avid Wildcat fan to the end. Remembered as a loving, gracious and generous wife, mother and friend to many, she will be deeply missed. Especially by her sister, Joan Campbell; her children, Gail Wahl, Susan Wyss, Michael (Darleen) and Jay (Vanessa); her grandchildren, Brian Jones, Slade and Jacob Wyss, Shane and Emily Sargent; her great-grandchildren, James, Victoria, Slade, Zoe, Silas and Alexandra Wyss. The family will honor her memory in private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project. God speed Mother Dear…We love you and will miss you.
