REFORM Charles William Woodard Sr., age 85, of Reform, died Dec. 9, 2012, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. today, Dec. 11, 2012, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Tim McCool and Dr. Samuel Andreasen officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and following the service at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty Spivey Woodard of Reform, Ala.; his sons, Dr. James Spivey Woodard (Sandra) of Columbus, Miss. and Chuck Woodard (Kathy) of Gordo, Ala.; his brother, George Allen Woodard (Joyce) of Trussville, Ala.; four grandchildren, Dusty Woodard (Nicole), John Woodard, Jake Woodard, and Alex Woodard; and special friend, Jeraldine Ball.

Mr. Woodard was born May 19, 1927, in Pickens County, Alabama to the late George Monroe Woodard and Lula Mae Logan Woodard. He was a member, deacon, and elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Reform for over 50 years and a retired employee of Southern Natural Gas with over 35 years of service. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, Charles was a VFW member for many years and served as Commander of Post No. 5568 in Reform for one and a half years. He was the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of Reform, Alabama since 1991 and a well known resident of Pickens County.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Kevin Bond, Kurt Bond, Brian Woodard, Jeff Mason, Barry Woodard, Rayburn Carroll, Mitch Williams, Mike Woodard, and Dennis Woodard.

Honorary pallbearers are Murry McMillian, Patsy Carroll, David Jennings, Rau McAdams, Bob Shields, William Ashmore, Tim Fulgham, Karl Vail, Larry Skelton, Joe Wright, Will Bouchillon, Harold Wilkins, Joe Mullinex, James and Daisy Floyd, Mary Smith, James H. "Doc" Ashcraft, Boyd Clemmons, Judy Graham Smith, Janice Griffin, Sentell and Janis Harper, Nellie Fields, and Gene Worrell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Rd., Tuscaloosa, AL 35404; or The Good Samaritan Medical Clinic, P.O. Box 661, Columbus, MS 39703.
