TUSCALOOSA Ellen Juanita Schumacher, age 70, of Tuscaloosa, went home to be with the Lord on April 25, 2013. She put up valiant fight against breast cancer. Juanita was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was Christian, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Homer D. Flanigan and Ruby H. Flanigan, and her brother, John D. Flanigan.
Juanita leaves behind her husband Gene Schumacher, her daughter, Lynn Wood (Brandon), grandchildren Taylor and Addison, of Birmingham, Ala.; beloved sister and best friends to Hilda Kilgore (Gordon), Betty Hendrix, Sarah Campbell, Onita Cooper and her brother Bud Flanigan (Betty). Juanita was a cherished aunt to 22 nieces and nephews.
Juanita's smiling face and precious spirit will be missed by all.
Special thanks to her primary care physician, Dr. Ross Vaughn, for his exceptional care and love for Juanita.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013, at 4:00 PM. Visitation will be held at 3:00 PM, one hour prior to services at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
