TUSCALOOSA Fred W. Wenth Jr., age 90, of Tuscaloosa, died July 7, 2013, at home. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Anthony J. Rice, S.J.C., and Father Jerry Deasy officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary J. Wenth; his parents, Fred W. Wenth Sr. and Annie Mae Wenth; his sister, Annie Ruth Land; Joey Wenth and Brian Mattison.
Survivors include his daughter, Benita Riley (Mike); sons, Rick (Kathryn), Phillip (Joan), Joe (Kim), and John (Victoria); grandchildren, Megan, Lauren, John Bradley, Melissa, Amanda, Brooke, Jennifer, Jason, Michael, Carolyn, Jessica, Ashley, and Derek; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Fred was the first employee hired at BF Goodrich. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was born and lived in Tuscaloosa all his life. He served in the Air Force during WW II. His life changed in 1949 when he met Mary Jimeneze his wife and help mate for 62 years. He was a dedicated family man and loved having his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with him.
Pallbearers will be James Rice, John Bradley Wenth, Derek Wenth, Jason Orr, Michael Wenth, and Mike Riley.
Honorary pallbearers are Knights of Columbus and nurses and staff of Hospice of West Alabama. Special thanks to Sydney Hutson for all your help with our father. We could never thank you enough.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
