LAFAYETTE, La. George Edward “Eddy” Williams Jr. left his loving family and friends to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, November 4, 2012, after a courageous fight. As he said, "He never gave up, but gave into God's will.”

Eddy was born in Demopolis, Ala. on December 18, 1961, to George E. Williams Sr. and the late Frances Miller Williams. Eddy fell in love and married his high school sweetheart, Donna. They were blessed to be married for 29 years. The center of his life was his son, Josh. When asked what Donna and Josh meant to Eddy, all he could say was everything. He was so fortunate to have these loving people in his life. They are the reason he fought as valiantly as he did. They made their home in Lafayette, La.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Alabama and his Juris Doctorate Degree from Louisiana State University. Eddy was a practicing litigation attorney and counselor to all his clients. He treated his clients, no matter if a large company or an individual, with the respect, integrity, and honesty for which he entered the profession. He was proud to be an attorney.

Eddy served on many boards and in many organizations including the Lafayette Parish Bar Board of Directors, AOC Board of Directors, Advisory Board for AOC Foundation, Community Advisory Board for the Lafayette Junior League, Invited Member to the Oxford University Round Table, LSU Alumni Association, LSU Law Alumni, Honorary Member of Pi Kappa Alpha/LSU, Louisiana State Bar Association, and the Louisiana Bar Foundation.

Eddy's greatest joy was his family. He so enjoyed time with them whether at LSU games, hunting, fishing, golfing, or just spending time at home with them and his pets, Chandler and Bella. As long as he was with his family, he was completely happy.

Eddy is survived by his wife, Donna and his son, Josh, both of Lafayette, La.; his father, George E. Williams Sr. of Demopolis, Ala.; one sister, Kathryn Williams Owings and her husband, Keith of Lafayette, La.; his mother and father-in-law, Gerald and Ann Parsons of Demopolis, Ala.; one sister-in-law, Teila Lee and her husband, Windham of Demopolis, Ala.; two brothers-in-law, Don Parsons and his wife, Karen of Demopolis, Ala. and Dale Parsons and his wife, Stephanie of Moundville, Ala.; nieces and nephews, Leslie Morrison, Heather Parsons, Nelson, Zachery, and Chase Parsons, and Miley and Windham, Jr. Lee; his special aunt, Joan Miller of Roswell, N.M., who helped his family take care of him during his last weeks; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Eddy is also survived by his adopted family, his office staff, who stood by him throughout his practice and his recent illness. Eddy also leaves behind his “second” sons: Matt Rainbolt, Andrew Gossen, David Ziegler, Adam Porche, Jacob Alleman, Grant Freeman, Evan Edwards, Zack Chambers, and Zach McMath.
