TUSCALOOSA James Albert Holman, born November 12, 1947 passed from this world at home surrounded by his family, and entered into Heaven on September 8, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas Holman and Ellen Bolling Holman and sister, Margaret Ann Holman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Heather McCollum Holman; beloved son, Albert Corey Holman; daughter, Taylor Elaine Elmore; and stepson; Brandon Scott Elmore, and cousins.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel with Dr. Herbert Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Albert graduated from Tuscaloosa County High and attended the University of Alabama. He worked with his grandfather's family company, Albert Holman Lumber Company and was a land manager. He was a member of the Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam Era.
Albert loved his family, the outdoors and being a pilot. He was an avid sportsman and hunter. He was a Diamond Life Member of the National Wildlife Turkey Foundation, a member of the Alabama Forestry Association and a Life member of the National Rifle Association.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Chester Lewis, Mr. Dick Miles, Mr. Drew Hamiter, Mr. Scotty Caruthers, Dr. Salem David, Jr., Mr. Harry McCollum, Mr. Bev Leigh, Mr. Allen McClendon, and Mr. Hardy McCollum.
Honorary Pallbearers are his nieces and nephews, Christian, Stephen, Kelsey and Alex Pereyda and Holly, Macey, Daxon, and Kylie Chandler.
