MILLPORT Rudolph Stripling, age 84, of Millport, died April 30, 2013, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel with Ricky Kimbel, Sonny McLellan, and Les Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Millport City Cemetery with Dowdle Funeral Home of Millport directing. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his brother, George, and sister, Peggy Stripling Herring.
Survivors include his wife, Betsy Stripling of Millport; his son, Jim Rudolph Stripling of Rockledge, Fla.; his granddaughter, Kalen Stripling Huffman (Jared) of Seattle, Wash.; his grandson, Connor Dalton Stripling of Rockledge, Fla.; his sisters, Sybil Estes of Columbus, Miss. and Bobbie Fant of Columbus, Miss.; his brothers, James Stripling of Trussville and Richard Stripling of Columbus, Miss.; nine nephews; six nieces; numerous Christian brothers and sisters; and lifelong friends, J.W. Richards of Millport and Howard Sinor of Palm Bay, Fla.
A native of Millport, he was the son of Murry Cluff and Sarah Jane Miller Stripling. He was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, neighbor, and friend. Mr. Stripling was a member of the Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked at Patrick Air Force Base in Cocoa Beach, Fla. for 34 years. He and his wife Betsy lived in Florida and raised their son Jim. They retired back to Rudolph's hometown of Millport in 1991.
Pallbearers will be Charles Stripling, Allen Estes, Dale Stripling, Kenny Fant, Mark Herring, and Todd Stripling.
