Clark Lindsay CHRISTLIEB Obituary
Known to family and childhood friends as Lindsay and a man who lived to make others laugh and enjoy life as much as he did, joined his heavenly family July 26, 2014. He bravely fought melanoma and set a courageous example for all to follow. Clark was born Feb. 27, 1930, in St. Paul. He grew up on Grantham Street in St. Anthony Park and graduated in 1948 from Murray High, where he ran track, played football, and was a member of the "Bucket Brigade" basketball team and student council. Clark served in the U.S. Navy and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BBA in 1956. He spent 30 years as one of Hollywood Vassarette's top salesmen, in Minnesota, the WV-KY-OH region, and Texas and adjacent states after moving to Houston with wife Olga and sons Isaac and Frank in 1961. He was the epitome of a hard worker and a devoted father and grandfather, and made friends everywhere. Clark was preceded in death by parents Frank Brabec Christlieb and Alma Knuta Anker Christlieb; wife Olga; uncles Howard Anker, Knute "Mac" Anker and Ralph Anker; and aunts Donna Anker, Della Anker and Berda Anker. Survivors include sons Isaac and wife Phyllis of Conroe, Texas, and Frank and wife Kay of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren Lauren Christlieb of Conroe, Jennifer Welch of Spring, Texas, and Will and Lindsay Christlieb of Arlington; dear friend and business colleague Akemi Inks of Missouri City, Texas; and cousins Diane Rossi, Carol Sweetland, Anita Branin and Sherry Schwartz and their families. Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 1, at Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Research Institute (cancerresearch.org) or other charity.
