Don J. Miller Obituary
Age 90 Of Minneapolis Passed away peacefully on June 22, 2012, after a short illness. Don was born and raised in the Twin Cities and graduated from Mpls Central High School. He proudly served in the US Army for 3 years, stationed in Italy during World War II. Upon his return, he earned a Bachelors degree from St. Cloud Teachers College and a Master's degree from Colorado State College. He worked as a Speech Therapist in the St. Paul Public School system for 34 years until his retirement. He married the love of his life, Elsie Wolkow, in 1960. Together they enjoyed gardening, nature, the arts, and cultural events. Don was loved by all of his many friends and neighbors, and touched everyone he met with his intelligence, quick wit, sense of humor, and kindness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie. He is survived by an extended family who will miss him dearly. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral. A celebration of Don's life will be held in the near future. Memorials may be sent to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, 3675 Arboretum Drive, Chaska, MN 55318. His family would like to express their sincere thanks to the medical staff at the University of Minnesota Medical Center - Fairview for their excellent care and compassion during Don's final days.
