Ernest PAULSON Obituary
Age 87 of New Brighton Died March 18, 2014 This kind and generous man was born in Benson, MN and graduated from Benson High School in 1944. After service in the Air Force, Ernie attended the University of Minnesota. An astute businessman, he built two businesses from the ground up and retired before age 65. Ernie was a longtime member of the Zuhrah Shrine Drum and Bugle Corps and Northeast Shrine Club, and was a past president of the Minnesota Chapter of American Society of Metals. He loved to play golf and was a former member of Golden Valley Country Club. We will miss his laughter and his smile, his humor and his stories, and the twinkle in his eye as he told them. Ernie was predeceased by his parents, Olaf and Huldah Paulson, his brother, Marv Paulson and his sister Helen Maxwell. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty; his daughter, Pamela Green and her husband Richard; grandsons, Zack Green and Joe (Claire) Green; granddaughter, Lindsay (Matt) Dvorak; great-grandson Brody Dvorak; sister, Lila Birch; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service Friday, March 28, 11:30 a.m., at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave. S., Minneapolis, with visitation one hour prior. An open house in Ernie's honor is on Friday evening from 7-9 PM at 110 Maryland Ave. S. in Golden Valley.
