Faerie Crosby WERNER

Obituary Condolences

Age 94 Of White Bear Lake Surrounded by her loving family, Faerie passed away on April 5, 2013. Preceded in death by husband Richard, grandson Rick Senkler, sister Gari Kulbitski, and brother Jim Crosby. Survived by children Jay Werner (Suelin), Philip Werner (Linda), Jeanine Johnson (Kurt), Pam Senkler (Bob), Cindy Werner, and sister Veon Kulbitski. Faerie was born on August 12, 1918 in Appanoose County Iowa, and moved to South Saint Paul as a young child. She graduated from South Saint Paul High School and attended the University of Minnesota. In 1940, she married Richard Werner and they spent the next 62 years living a wonderful love story. She was blessed with 5 children, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren, who she said were "bright, beautiful and busy." Rich and Fae traveled extensively, from Hawaii before it was a state, to the Great Wall of China, and rode camels in North Africa. But the greatest joy for Faerie was spending time with family and sharing kindness to anyone who came to her door. Faerie was a lady in every sense of the word, and a gracious and welcoming hostess. Faerie read the Wall Street Journal every day, was a political observer, and was very proud to be an American. Faerie would send Guideposts and write letters to her "adopted soldiers." She prayed for their safe return and deeply respected their service to our great country. Faerie had a deep and visible faith in God and found goodness in the people she met. She gave generously to her community and will be remembered for her kindness, elegance, joyful spirit and sense of humor. The Visitation will be Thursday, April 11 at 1pm, with a Celebration of Life at 2pm at Saint Andrews Lutheran Church, 900 Stillwater Road, Mahtomedi, MN 55115. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Saint Andrews Lutheran Church or Union Gospel Mission.
