Jim LANGE Obituary
The world lost a truly wonderful man on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. Known and beloved by many because of his celebrity, he was cherished and adored most of all by his family that knew him best. Jim was born in St. Paul, MN, on August 15, 1932. He attended grade school at St. Adalbert's, high school at St Thomas Academy and graduated from the University of Minnesota. Jim started his radio and TV career as Captain 11 on Twin Cities television. He found national recognition as host of "The Dating Game". Jim worked as a DJ for decades in the LA and San Francisco Bay Area. He died at his home in Mill Valley, CA. Jim was preceded in death by his parents (John and Catherine Lange), his brother (Bob Lange) and his first wife Fay Madigan. He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy, three children (Romney, Nick and Gavin), two step children (Ingrid and Steig) and four grandchildren as well as his sister (Midge Lange) and nieces and nephews Mark Lange, Winna Bernard, Betsy Guzior, David Lange, Nora Hahn, Patty Lange, Macrae Semans and Andrew Semans. He will be sorely missed.
