Joan A. LOGUE Obituary
August 15, 1936 to April 4, 2012 Beloved Singer, Music Teacher, Aunt Age 75, of Rome, Italy "Pure Love of the Music" Born in St Paul, MN, Joan won her first prize in piano at the age of 5. Following her BA in Harmony & Piano at the U o f M, Joan took her MA in voice at the University of Washington obtaining a scholarship to Aspen, followed by a Fulbright Scholarship to Italy. Her musical career included recordings and premiere performances in contemporary opera throughout the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East. She also performed as a solo artist at the Biennale of Venice. Her varied repertoire extended from the Renaissance to modern music. She taught at both the Music Conservatory of Rome and the American University of Rome along with private voice lessons to many students who described her as "A wonderful example of someone with passion & love for music" citing that she will be dearly missed. Joan is preceded in death by parents John & Ann (Horwath) Logue, Sister Constance (Logue) McConnon, and Brother Jack Logue. Survived by 9 nieces and nephews; John Logue, Barbara (Logue) Whitcomb, Thomas Logue, Jean (Logue) Kinde, Kathy (McConnon) Petron, Eileen (McConnon) Degnan, Maura (McConnon) Roby, Kevin McConnon and Brian McConnon. A memorial service will be Saturday September 7, 2013, 10am, at Calvary Cemetery in St Paul, MN.
