Joseph P. Wright Obituary
48, died tragically and unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Joe was born in Duluth, Minnesota on August 1, 1965, the 8th of a family of 10 children. He attended St. Michael's School in Duluth, then St. John's Preparatory High School in Collegeville, Minnesota. He graduated from Harvard University and then earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin. Joe was a Senior Partner with the law firm of Stafford Rosenbaum LLP in Madison. He was a talented lawyer and trusted advisor to his clients and was well-respected in the legal community. He was selected by his peers annually as a Wisconsin Super Lawyer in business litigation since 2005. Joe had a commanding presence in the courtroom, a sharp legal mind and a quick wit. Joe started his career at Stafford as a law clerk in 1986. From 1988 to 1993, he worked as an associate at Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt in Portland, Oregon. He returned to Stafford in 1993 and became a partner in 1996. Joe was a leader and mentor at the Stafford firm. He served on the firm's Personnel Committee, Executive Committee and Board of Directors. He was a member of the Advisory Board for LEGUS, an international network of law firms of which the Stafford firm is a founding member. Joe was co-author of an upcoming revision of the book The Wisconsin Fair Dealership Law. He also served his profession as a member of the Board of Governors for the Western District of Wisconsin Bar Association and as a member of the Wisconsin Lawyers' Fund for Client Protection Committee of the State Bar of Wisconsin, serving as the vice-chair for the past year.
