Age 86 Of Falcon Heights Lorraine Stevensen Kemmer died on August 24th 2013 in St. Anthony Park. Lorraine Meriam Stevensen was born March 29th, 1927 in Chester, Iowa to Henry Stevensen and Laura Nikoley. She graduated from Chester High School in 1945 and attended Macalester College and the University of Minnesota, graduating with a degree in Home Economics in 1949. In 1949 she also married Eugene Kemmer, of Spring Valley, MN. They had three children; Steven, Jeff and Janine. They also had a 4th 'child', a pet crow, for 28 years, who used to liven up Halloween in Falcon Heights. They built their house in Falcon Heights in 1953, where she lived for the past 60 years. Mr. Kemmer died in 1990. Lorraine was active in 4H; Campfire Girls of St. Paul, where she was a House Manager with the Chimera Theater ushering program for many years; Minnesota Genealogy Association, particularly the Danish Group; the Minnesota Women's Consortium, where she did legislative monitoring of women's issues and Minnesota Home Economists in Homemaking. She was awarded Home Economist of the Year in 1995. She loved nature and was an avid bird watcher and gardener. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her. Preceded in death by husband, Eugene. Survived by children, Steve (Joan), Jeff (Deb) and Janine Kemmer; and granddaughter, Sara Kemmer. Private family services to be held. Arr.
