Age 96, of St. Paul On November 15, 2013 Margaret was born on a farm between Hanley Falls and Granite Falls, Minnesota on January 31, 1917, and was christened Arline Margaret Hanson, daughter of Henry Tennes Hanson and Maria Taksdal Hanson. She graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1934 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College in 1938. She met her future husband in Miami, Florida, where she had traveled for work, and married Jesse Eubanks in 1940. They had two sons, Jeffrey and Charles, and when Jesse joined the Merchant Marines, Margaret and her sons moved back to Minnesota to live with her parents, who were then living in Springfield. After Jesse's death in March 1945, Margaret went to the University of Minnesota where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Library Science. In 1948 Margaret took a job as a librarian in the Lyon County Library in Marshall, Minnesota, bought a house, and moved there with her parents and sons. She was subsequently hired as the librarian of the Marshall Public Schools, where she remained until 1960. In 1960 she moved to Roseville, Minnesota and began working for Roseville Area Schools as an elementary school librarian. She retired from North Heights School in 1980 and then wrote North Heights Elementary School, 1886-1981: A History. A member and volunteer in several organizations, Margaret remained active until she moved to The Heritage Apartments at Lyngblomsten in 2003. She was transferred to Lyngblomsten Care Center in 2012. Margaret is survived by her sister Cora (Louis) Stahn; sons Jeffrey and Charles; three grandchildren, James, John (Sue) and Judy (Joel); and five great-grandchildren, Nicole, Melissa, Jessica, Jesse and Jakob. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23 at 11 AM, ST. TIMOTHY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1465 N. Victoria St. at Nevada, in St. Paul. The family will be available for visitation at the church one and a half hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Margaret's memory to Lyngblomsten Care Center, 1415 Almond Ave., St. Paul MN 55108 or to St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 1465 Victoria St., St. Paul MN 55117.
