Age 86 Of Eau Claire, WI died Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Oakwood Villa nursing home in Altoona, WI. Marjorie was born in St. Paul, MN on April 11, 1928, the daughter of Edward & Margaret Baird (Wasnus). She graduated from the Convent of the Visitation School in St. Paul, MN in 1946. She married her husband of 54 years, William Joseph Towle III on November 24, 1949 in St. Paul, MN and together they proudly raised ten children, and were eventually blessed with sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Marjorie is survived by daughters, Elizabeth Towle, Deborah Williams, Margaret (John) Rein, and Avelina Towle; sons, William (Julie), Edward (Natalie), Robert (Lynne), Kevin, John, and James (Jenni); sixteen grandchildren, Angie Mueller, Sam Williams, Laura (Justin) Huspek, Emily (Luke) Lumley, Jacob (Stephanie Kubes) Towle, Michael Towle, Jordan, Shanna, and Meagan Towle, Cassie & Brett Towle, Sarah & Max Rein, Andrew & Alissa Towle, and Amanda Towle; and seven great grandchildren, Olivia, Sawyer, and Sofia Huspek, Ruby Lumley, Elliott Towle, and Sheldon & Victoria Zgodava. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Avelina Schneider & Sheila Towle, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband William, her parents, Edward & Margaret, and sisters, Phyllis Sjoholm & Jane Haserick.Marjorie, better known as "Gammy," will be missed by family and friends alike, and most remembered for her love & commitment to family, friends, and the children she loved caring for. A memorial mass will be held Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the ERC/Newman Parish, 110 Garfield Avenue, Eau Claire, WI with Father David Olson officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. A luncheon reception at the Holiday Inn Eau Claire South will follow. Private family burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota at a later date.
