Robert Graffen "Bob" BLOOD Obituary
Age 73, of Bloomington Died unexpectedly on July 17, 2014 following heart surgery. Survived by wife, Patti, her children, Chris and Allie (Charlie), soon-to-be granddaughter, Maisey, and siblings, Barbara, Glen, and Tom (Tess); sons, Dave, Jon, and Andy (Kelsey); grandson, Ben; stepson Fred (Jacqueline); former wives, Sally and Diane; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann and Barbara; nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by parents, William and Christine; stepfather, Ernie; and brothers, Jack, Thomas, and William (Roseann). Born in Chicago on December 23, 1940, Bob studied at Columbia and McGill, graduated from the University of Illinois-Chicago, and received an MBA from Cornell University. He moved to the Twin Cities in 1970 to begin a career as a CPA, and over the years also held a variety of jobs in accounting and the design of computer business applications, as well as spending a year as a visiting professor at Jackson State University in Mississippi. A proud husband and father, he had a wonderful sense of humor, a useful skill for someone who was a perennial Twins fan, active golfer, and inveterate gambler, whether at Canterbury Downs or on the stock market. He loved adventure, whether through travel, detective novels, or trying a new dim sum dish with his sons. While always on the lookout for a bargain, Bob was generous with his time and talents, and devoted to his family. A private memorial service was held in Minnehaha Park on Saturday, July 26.
