Age 95, Beloved Uncle and Husband Passed away peacefully on December 4th, 2012 at Seasons of Maplewood where he had resided for the past 18 months. Born November 30, 1917, in Paynesville, MN. Roger was the third of five children of Oscar and Emma Gilbertson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, in July, 2012; his sister, Margaret Mingo and brother, Don Gilbertson. He is survived by his sisters, Maxine Lapierre of Edina, MN, MaryLou Giesen of Denver, CO and numerous nieces and nephews. Roger was a World War II veteran, serving in the Coast Guard as a first class motor machinist's mate. He attended the University of Minnesota and spent his entire career in management at the Gillette Company (Tony Division), now Proctor & Gamble. Roger and Fran resided in Roseville, MN for the 55 years of their married life. Roger was a proud and honorable man. He will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews and leaves a legacy of faith, devotion, personal responsibility and a love of learning that continued up to his final days. He was and is an inspiration to his entire family. Memorial Mass, Friday, December 14th, at St Pius X Catholic Church in White Bear Lake, MN. Service will be held at 11:30 AM with visitation one hour before the service. Interment Roselawn Cemetery.
