Stanley Simeon NAPIWOSKI Obituary
Age 92, in Mesa, Arizona Formerly of St. Paul Stanley was welcomed into God's loving arms on March 25, 2014. He was preceded in death by his first wife Jeanette; second wife Velma; children Pam, Billy, John, Mary; and nine of his siblings. He is survived by daughters Vikki Pedroso, Kris Chambers; sons Ted Long (Anna), Mark Long, Dan Long (Lucille); siblings John Napiwoski (Bonnie) and Doris Miller; 18 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchil-dren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Stanley was born in St. Paul and grew up on the West Side flats during the Great Depression. He served in WWII as an Army Intelligence Sergeant, seeing action in France, Belgium and Germany, and was at Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his Jan. 9th, 1945 heroic actions against enemy forces. He was very proud of being a WWII veteran and of his service to his country. After the war he became a carpenter, a trade in which he was a true craftsman. Building new homes in his younger years and specializing in remodeling them in the latter. He was a championship bowler in his 30s and 40s with many awards and trophies. Affectionately nicknamed and called "Big Bird" by some of his friends, he regaled us all with his stories, dreams and ambitions. His sense of humor and wit will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Saturday April 26th at the Church of St. Matthews, 510 Hall Ave, St. Paul. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be at 1:00 PM Monday, April 28th at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
