Age 71 ~ Of Bigfork, MN Formerly of St. Paul Husband, Father, Grandpa passed away peace-fully on May 26, 2012. Terry was born on February 24, 1941 in St. Paul. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 120. Preceding him in death are his parents Melvin Sr. and Helen Connett; brother Charles and sister Linda. Survived by loving wife, Mary Jo; daughters, Christine (Tim) Maidl, Clarice (Ray) Nelson; son Andrew (Meera Doughman). grandchildren, Andrew, Timmy, Morgan, Nicholas, William, Joseph and Matthew. His younger siblings, Mel Jr., Corrine, Vicki, Ken, Nannett, Roxanne, Michelle, Richard, Eugene, Georgeanne, Kim, Brian and Dawn, also survive him; along with many nieces and nephews who looked up to him and admired him. He grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Washington High School. He joined the US Navy in 1959. While in Washington DC he met and married his wife of 49 years, Mary Jo, on September 21, 1962. He owned and operated Dutch's Citgo on Rice Street before becoming a truck-driver for 33 years. He retired from Metal Matic, Inc. in 1997 and moved to Bigfork, MN, his favorite destination for family vacations, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. He served as President, trail groomer and was on the Board of Directors for the Swamp-siders Snowmobile Club. He and Mary Jo were hosts to many visitors that came "up north". He created many memories for his children and grandchildren that will always be remembered. His many friends, neighbors and family knew that Dutch was always available to lend a helping hand. A memorial service at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, 320 Golf Course Lane, Bigfork, MN will be on Friday, June 29 at 11AM. Visitation 1 hour prior. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery will be at a future date.
