1932 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences
Sivadge, Arland Dean SAN DIEGO -- Arland passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side, on February 23, 2014. He was born in Stuart, Iowa on August 31, 1932, to Earl and Selva Sivadge and was raised on their farm in Canby, Iowa with brothers, Hamilton, Douglas, and sister, Norma. In high school and college, Arland was a 3-sport athlete playing football, basketball, and excelling in baseball, leading to a try-out for the St. Louis Cardinals Farm Team. After college, Arland joined the Marines and was eventually stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California, where he served for six years. He then went on to have a distinguished career as a school teacher and coach in the Santee school district, retiring after 31 years. Arland loved hunting, golfing, umpiring, fishing, singing, and practical joking. Arland is loved and will be missed by: his wife of 33 years Marion Sivadge, sister Norma Carr, daughter Becky Pinnick, sons Scott and Dan Sivadge, step-daughter Debbie Hendrickson, and his ten grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 9th, at El Cajon Mortuary, 684 S. Mollison Ave., El Cajon, CA 92020. A Viewing will be held prior, from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Immediately following the service, a celebration of life will be held at a private residence (directions available at service). On Monday, March 10th, at 11 a.m., Arland will be laid to rest at Miramar National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the San Diego Zoological Society, Arland's favorite place to visit with his family.
