Billy Fredrick Miller Obituary
Miller, Billy Fredrick ESCONDIDO -- Billy Miller passed away December 24, 2012. He was born August 7, 1928 in Wytheville, Va., son of Alfred and Fern Miller. Billy had a 21 year career in the Marine Corps, First Sergeant. Bill served in China during WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He earned the Bronze Star for his courageous acts in the Chosin Reservoir campaign during the Korean War. Billy received an AA from Palomar college. He was a realtor in the San Diego County. Billy's favorite pastimes were bridge games with his wife, Betty, leading bowling leagues, and golfing. He was intelligent, kind, and a man of integrity, and enjoyed researching topics, leading conversations, and being with his family, especially his grandchildren. Bill was interviewed for the Documentary, Chosin. Several researchers and authors interviewed him for books and articles. Billy was married to Betty Miller, who passed in June, 2012. He is survived by his son, Doug Miller; daughter, Annette (Daniel) Jones; and his grandchildren, Malachi, Noah and Hannah Jones Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 23rd, at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego. Memorial donations may be made to The Church of the Nazarene, Missions Council, 1555 South Redwood Street, Escondido, CA 92025 (760) 745-7061.
