Carl Foussat Obituary
Foussat, Carl 09/09/1929 ~ 02/24/2014 SAN MARCOS - Carl, 84, born in Encinitas, CA, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Palomar Medical Center Hospice. Carl graduated from San Dieguito High School in 1948 and was very proud of his basketball and track trophies displayed at the school entrance. He received certificates for perfect attendance from kindergarten to senior years without missing a single day even when he was sick. Carl joined the Navy for four years from 1948 to 1952 where he worked as an office keeper. His title was SK3. He loved playing basketball when he was docked in San Diego on the USS Prairie. This was at the 11th Naval District. He was shipped to the Philippine Islands, Japan and Hong Kong during the Korean War. After Carl's time in the Navy, he attended Barber School and started working in Cardiff for 10 years. He was also a very proud member of The Optimist Club. He then worked at La Costa Resort for 20 years, and Camp Pendleton for another 27 years. Carl is survived by his wife Linda of 35 years, met in April of 1975, married and joined in union June of 1979, with Linda's children, Robert (Judy) and Annette Ledesma; grandchildren, James, Freddy, and Sophia Rincon, Vanessa and Bobby Ledesma and Marina McIntire; and 14 great-grandchildren. Carl is also survived by his children from his first marriage, Vince, Donna, and Aaron Foussat; and stepson, Albert Najera; grandchildren, Albert Jr. and Deseree; and one great-grandchild. Viewing: 1 to 4:30 pm., Sunday, March 9, at El Camino Memorial Park, San Diego. Rosary: 3pm. Funeral Mass: 10 am., Monday, March 10, at St. John's Catholic Church, 1001 Encinitas Blvd., Encinitas, CA Interment after Mass, at El Camino Memorial Park, and reception to follow at St. John's Catholic Church.
