Cynthia Slack Obituary

Slack, Cynthia (Alm) 06/18/1959 ~ 03/14/2013 SANTEE-- Born in Casper, WY. Cindy began life's travels a month later when parents Bob and Donna Alm moved to Santee. She was the yearbook editor at Cajon Park School, a graduate of Santana High and Grossmont College. She married her high school sweetheart, Brian Slack, in 1979. A cancer survivor for 21 years, she lived life with a loving nature and positive attitude; her smile could brighten the day. Famous for her homemade cookies, she especially enjoyed church activities, being around her children, babies, and her special cat Missy. Life was filled with camping and RV trips with her family, playing softball and board games, painting ceramics, solving puzzles, reading, dining with her cancer Victors Group, and cheering on the Padres with cousin Ron. Cindy will be missed by her parents and the most awesome children she loved so dearly, Jason (Jacquelyn) Slack, Steven Slack and Breann Slack; her sister Sheri (Marty) Voshell, and brother Bob (Karen) Alm Jr; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces. nephews and friends. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 10th at Foothills Christian Church. 365 West Bradley Avenue, El Cajon. Flowers are welcome or donations in her memory to Foothills Christian Church Children's Ministry.

Alm Family, its taken me days to decide what to say, words just can't explain what Cindy meant to me. From the time I was diagnosed with my brain tumor she was there for me. She gave me my hat and scarf party and went wig shopping with me. I will never forget her for that. I'll remember you forever my sweet friend.

Dearest Sheri and Family,

So sorry to hear about Cindy's passing. I enjoyed reading about her life. Sadly I did not have the privilege of knowing her well, but her visible presence will be missed. She was a part of the family of God at Foothills Christian Church and I remember seeing her on so many occasions. I pray to the God of all comfort for you now and the years to come to make His presence real as you grieve your sister, friend, mother, daughter and wife.

With Deepest Sympathy,
Diane Turrietta
