Donald Shaw Obituary

Shaw, Donald J. OCEANSIDE -- Donald J. Shaw passed away on December 26, 2013 surrounded by family after a six month battle with cancer. He was born in Rochester, New York on November 21, 1934 to Clarence and Ann Mary Shaw. He was one of three brothers and two sisters. Donald lived in Rochester until joining the USMC. He served as a Sergeant for three years and moved to Hollywood, California after his discharge. He worked for a variety of companies until ultimately reaching his goal of becoming an attorney in 1974. He worked in Beverly Hills followed by Century City for over 25 years until moving to Oceanside where he continued to practice law preparing wills and trusts. Donald was a contributing writer to the Century City Lawyer and also authored a book titled "The Non- Attorney's Trust Handbook." His name was mentioned in "Who's Who in California." Donald is survived by his wife of 56 years Peggy; his sister, Jeannie; sons and daughters-in- law, Mark and Holly Shaw of Oceanside, and James and Mary Shaw of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and grandchildren, Spencer, Danielle, Marisa, Christy, Jenna and Katrina. Services will be held on January 6th at 11a.m. at Saint Margaret's Catholic Church in Oceanside. Interment is planned at Miramar National Cemetery at a later date.

Don and Peggy attended our wedding at St Margaret Catholic Church in Oceanside. My wife, Sherita, and I shared many Lenten Friday meals over the past several years. Dona and I had the same birthday, November 21st. Don, rest in peace. See you in Heaven.
