Obituary Condolences

CUSEO JR., JOSEPH Born March 11, 1928 in Manhattan, Joseph Cuseo, Jr. died Friday, December 14, 2012 in Hemet, CA. Joe served his country by joining the U.S. Coast Guard just as World War II was coming to an end; he was stationed in Hawaii. Upon returning stateside he wed Helen Mancuso, November 1948 and went to work for the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company. Joe and Helen moved to San Diego in 1958 and lived in Clairemont. Joe was a devoted drummer and for years was a member of the Gospel Choir at Christ the King Catholic Church. His salient moment was when the Choir sang for Mother Teresa of Calcutta at USD. He played random gigs from time to time and often performed at Seven Hills Members Club in Hemet. After retiring he worked with Father Joe's Village that serves the homeless population in San Diego. He was predeceased by his brothers Vincent and Blase and sister Phyllis Cuseo. Survivors include his wife Helen, children Suzette Jarrett, Christine Abdelnour, Dr. Mary Ellen Dellefield, Joseph Anthony Cuseo and four grandchildren. Sevices are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 1940 Illion St., San Diego, CA. 92110.
