James I. Jensen Obituary
Jensen, James I. OCEANSIDE -- James Jensen was born July 1, 1930 to Ruby and Frank Jensen in Fresno, Calif., and by then, the family of four settled in Glovis, Calif., where they farmed. In 1941, they moved to Long Beach, Calif., where James went to Garfield Elementary School. Later, he attended Washington Junior High School and Long Beach Poly High School, graduating in 1948. James joined the Air Force and graduated from flight engineer school in 1949. He became a crew member on the B-29's, flying bombing missions over North Korea and was awarded his Air Medal in 1953. He also became a member of the Calif. Air National Guard in Van Nuys and was recalled to active duty in 1961. James started to fly cargo in the C97 aircrafts from the USA to Vietnam, finishing his military career as a Staff Sergeant. James graduated from Long Beach State College in 1958 with a BS degree in Finance. He also held a Real Estate and Broker's License, worked for the Division of Highways, and later for the County of Los Angeles. He truly loved the Lord and was a devout Christian. James is survived by his wife of 35 years, Charlotte; daughters, Kirsten and Inger; granddaughter, Haley; and extended family. Services will be private.
