Kenneth Raymond Baker Obituary
Baker, Kenneth Raymond POINT LOMA -- Born March 29, 1949 in San Diego to Lloyd and Barbara Baker (Richards), Ken passed away on November 29, 2013. Ken was a beloved family member and good friend to many. All were drawn to his love of life and gentle spirit. A gifted athlete, he was equally at home in the ocean or in the mountains of Colorado where he lived for several years. Ken excelled at swimming, diving, surfing, sailing, water skiing and snow skiing; all with incredible grace. He graduated from Point Loma High School and served his country in Vietnam as a member of the elite U. S. Navy Underwater Demolition Team. An accomplished carpenter and furniture refinisher, he worked for many Point Loma residents over the years. Ken is survived by his son Austin Baker, Austin's mother Deborah Noell, his mother and stepfather Barbara and Jack Wartes, and brother Greg Baker, all of San Diego; his sister Jan Komoroff of Nevada, and brother and sister Paul Wartes and Carolyn Fudetani of Washington State. His Aunt Norma Griffin and many cousins, nieces and nephews will also remember him with great love. Ken was predeceased by his son Jerrett Baker of Vista. Ken's ashes will be scattered in the ocean the morning of January 8, 2014. Those we may have missed who wish to celebrate Ken's life with us, please call Greg Baker at 970-948-2246.
