Born July 16, 1926 in Greenville, RI. she was the youngest (and only daughter) of the four children of Harold and Marie Cole. Lois was raised in Warwick, RI (town of Norwood) and, following graduation from Aldrich High School in 1944, attended Edgewood Secretarial School. She was an executive secretary at Providence Washington Insurance Company when she met her future husband, Craig Hubble, a Californian who had been sent East for the company's training program. Lois and Craig were married in 1952 and lived in San Francisco a short time before settling in the San Diego area later that year. In San Diego, Lois was employed by TWA and Land Title Insurance Company. She was very active in the PTA at Stephen Foster Elementary School in the 1960's, and in later years she was a secretary at the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District headquarters. Lois had many interests. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, studying family genealogy, traveling, hiking in the Sierra, and served as President of Qui Vive and Los Amigos ballroom dance clubs in which she and her husband were members. She was a board member of Balboa Park's Committee of 100 for several years and a 50 year member of Palisades Presbyterian Church. Lois is survived by Craig, her husband of 61 years; a daughter, Susanne Hubble of La Mesa; a son, Richard (Karen) of Mill Valley, CA; a brother, Richard Cole (Venetta) of Springfield, PA., as well as nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.
