Marian F. Johnson Obituary
Johnson, Marian F. ESCONDIDO -- Marian Frances Johnson passed away peacefully on April 25, 2014. She was born on February 19, 1925 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Marian graduated from George Washington High School, IN, in 1942. She married the love of her life, Joseph A. Johnson in September, 1944. Marian, Joe and their two children packed up everything in 1953 and moved to Whittier, California, joining Joe's mother and sister. They enjoyed a great life with work, East Whittier Friends Church and the Whittier Civic Light Opera in which Marian starred in a number of musicals. She worked most of her life as a bookkeeper, much of it at the Whittier Elks Lodge. Besides singing and acting, Marian also gave numerous one woman shows, including her famous Hat Shows. Her vibrant personality was also shown through her creativity in sewing, knitting, and writing stories (true and not-so- true). Marian and Joe moved to Escondido in 1987 and she lived her final years with Joe at the Westmont Town Court. Her husband Joe passed away in 2009 after being married for 65 years. Marian is survived by her children, Joseph Johnson and wife Judith, and Pamela Bertin; her grandchildren, Brett Johnson and wife Theresa Johnson, Brooke Klein and husband Josh Klein; and her great- grandchildren, Andrew Johnson, Thomas Johnson and Mason Klein. Marian loved her family, friends, Church and being the center of attention. Her children, grandkids and great- grandkids will truly miss their beloved Mamaw. The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful and loving care she received at Villa Paridisio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dial-a-Prayer at beebite@cox.net
