Michael F. Cavataio Obituary
Cavataio, Michael F. "Every man dies, not every man lives" VISTA -- Michael Franklin Cavataio lived life to the fullest. Born October 1, 1949 and passed away on April 17, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Cindy; his son, Matt; grandson, Collin; brother, Gary; father, Mike Sr.; and a large extended family. Mike was an avid 49'er fan and loved playing golf with his friends. The only thing he liked more than playing golf was planning a big BBQ where he could cook for his family and friends. He was an important part of the banking community for over 40 years; he was the Executive Vice President, and Regional Manager for Regents Bank in Vista. Mike had a heart for helping others which led him into being an active member for various organizations. He served as President and member of the Board of Directors for the Vista Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors for Vista Community Clinic, Vista Village Association, Vista Economic Development Association, Vista Rock, and the Executive Director for Lifeline, Vista Sunrise Kiwanis, Special Olympics and community service projects through North Coast Church. Mike was always looking out for others, putting aside his own needs or problems in order to help someone else. One of his favorite bible verses was John 15, 12-13. "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." Mike Cavataio truly lived by this; he was an amazing example of laying down his life for his family, friends, or strangers. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 25, at 1 p.m. at North Coast Church, 2405 N. Santa Fe, Vista, CA 92084. 760-724-6700 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to North Coast Church or to .
