BINGHAM, REUBEN Born November 4, 1930 Died August 15, 2012 Dad was born with a loving spirit and trusting heart. As a young man, Dad enlisted in the Navy at 17 years old and became an air traffic controller. He became one of the youngest Chief Petty Officers. While in the Navy, he met my mother, married and moved to Imperial Beach. Dad worked as a teacher at Harbor View Elementary School in Imperial Beach for nearly 20 years. He dedicated his weekends and evenings during the 80's to preserve the marshland in Imperial Beach. Dad continued to be a part of the Southwest Wetlands Interpretative Association (Swia) in their formative years. Dad's example of love and dedication to his wife, children and grandchildren will forever bond his memory to our hearts. We all loved you Dad and miss you. May you be at peace in God's loving embrace. He is survived by our mother, Alicia Patalagsa Bingham, his daughters, Cynthia Owen, and Sabrina Bingham and son Paul Bingham and 15 grandchildren and great-grand-child-ren. My father is also survived by his loving brother and sisters, Walter Bingham of Pennsylvania, Calista Crump of Sun City, California and Blanche Weil of Pennsylvania. Family Military Honors will be held. There will be a memorial service on Friday, September 7th at Del Angel Humphrey Mortuary, Chula Vista, at 1:30 p.m. Please sign the guest book at www.Humphrey Mortuary.
