Broach, V. Travis ESCONDIDO -- Travis, 90, passed away February 18, 2013 with his family by his side. He was born October 10, 1922 in Dermott, Ark., and raised in Baton Rouge where he attended LSU. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1943 and met his perfect girl, Lucille Steeve, while stationed in San Diego. After the war, they were married and made Escondido their home. He worked for various industries and eventually owned a 7/11 franchise on Midway. They were also active members of Grace Lutheran Church. After retirement, they moved to West Point, Calif., and then on to a retirement village in Cameron Park, Calif. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lucille; children, Kenneth (Kathy), Stephen (Karen), JoAnne (Ron); five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
