LINDEN, VERNON EUGENE July 1917 to September 2012 95 Years Of Living Passed peacefully to the Lord with his wife, Evelyn, by his side. He will be remembered as a kind loving husband and father to three, grandfather to six and great-grandfather to five. He worked as a plumber and superintendent for Kitzman's Plumbing. He built the family home in Lemon Grove, from an old Navy barracks that he dismantled, with his first wife of 50 years, Youel, by his side. He was a patriot, a Navy radioman in World War II, a self-educated naturalist and botanist. A renaissance man, he hunted, fished, gardened, read poetry (Hiawatha was a favorite), he cooked, baked bread and developed scrumptious cookie recipes that he shared. He was known as the "cookie man" by many. A true Gentleman, he would rise whenever a women entered a room. He was fun loving and a great storyteller, who channeled that talent into several short books with an old west theme. He spent his childhood in Wyoming and loved that entire area. His advice to all was, "Have fun" and "Keep smilin".
