SHRUM, VIVIAN KELLEY May 16, 1947 to August 31, 2012 Vivian was one of the Special Ones. Wife, mother, daughter, sister, Vivian was always full of love to her immediate and extended family but also to many, many friends and ac-quaintances. Vivian was so full of life, and one of the few that truly lived. And live she did, often acting as the nucleus for many events that brought so many people together. She was the manager of San Diego Optical in La Jolla for almost 30 years, a family business she owned with her husband. The San Diego native was an avid sports fan, a fervent reader and a passionate follower of the academy of motion pictures. Always displaying her optimism, positive attitude, support and generosity, Vivian also showed she was fearless when her strength was called upon. This was never more evident than in the way she battled cancer - a fight she was sure she could win. Vivian left this Earth surrounded by her family. She died as beautifully as she lived her life. She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn M. Kelley, sister Mary and brother John. She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 41 years, Carter, her daughter Kelley (David) and her son C.B.; her mother Joyce Kelley and siblings Bill, sister-in-law Susan, Curtis (Sheila), Brian (Beth), Paul (Janie) and Danny (Kari). Memorial Mass to be Saturday, September 8th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima, 293 H Street, Chula Vista, CA 91910.
