Nelson Munsey Obituary

MUNSEY, NELSON EMORY Nelson Emory Munsey, age 61, a native of Uniontown, PA, and a resident of the San Diego area. The fourth of six children born to his parents, George and Evenlyn Munsey. He graduated from Uniontown High School in 1966 and attended Hiram Scott Jr. College, and then the University of Wyoming where he played football. Nelson advanced to the semi-pro league playing with the Norfolk Neptunes, from there he was signed to The Baltimore Colts, where he played for six years. Following the Colts, he did a short stint with The Los Angeles Rams and The Minnesota Vikings before retiring. He is survived by his son, Morgan Munsey of Brooklyn, NY; sisters, Patricia (Joseph) Russell of Ladera Ranch, CA, and Marsha (Edwin) Stratford of Reno, NV; brother, Harry "Chuck" Muncie of Oxnard, CA; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, George "Sonny" Munsey, Jr. and William "Bill" Munsey. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 18th, at 1:00 p.m. at Anderson-Ragsdale Mortuary Chapel, 5050 Federal Blvd., San Diego, CA 92102.
