Obituary Condolences

KARZEN, KAY Kay Karzen, of La Mesa, was born April 29, 1935, and passed away on October 12, 2012. Kay lost her husband and best friend, Stuart, just three short months ago. She was also predeceased by her son Kerry. Kay leaves behind her children Kimily, Ted, Steve, Susan, and Adriana, and eight adoring grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Gilda and brother Ken. Kay worked for the San Diego Unified School District for 32 years as an elementary school teacher. She was fascinated by the learning process and appreciated each and every day with her students. Kay enjoyed having her family over for Saturday night dinner, learning new things with her Zeta Rho friends, and attending movies at the Cinema Society and plays at the Old Globe. She also played a mean game of Scrabble. Kay was creative, intellectual, and accomplished anything she set her mind to. A private celebration of life for this lovely lady will be held by her family.
