Christine L. Baumann Obituary

Baumann, Christine L. SAN MARCOS -- Christine Lillian (nee Grabowich) Baumann, 60, passed away on November 16, 2012 after a brief and hard fought battle with a critical illness. She was born June 14, 1952, in New Brunswick, NJ, to Gloria and Paul Grabowich who retired to Venice, Fla., in 1979, and are now deceased. Christine graduated from St. Peter High School in New Brunswick, NJ, and matriculated from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY, with a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. She is survived by one son, Alexander H. Baumann, PhD, of Everett, Ma., from a previous marriage to Jeff Baumann of Lumberville, Pa.; by her older sister, Irene (nee Grabowich) Pujol Lipkin and David Lipkin of Oceanside, Ca.; by her younger brother, George Grabowich and his wife, Christine (nee McKiernan) Grabowich, of Flemington, NJ; by her nephews, Marc Pujol, of Drexel Hill, Pa., and Ian and Luke Grabowich, of Flemington, NJ; and by her niece, Steffanie (nee Lipkin) Rupp and her husband, Brian Rupp; and great-nephews, Brennan and Tyler Rupp, also of Oceanside, Calif. Christine moved to Southern California in 2002 after having also lived in Newport, RI, Philadelphia, Pa., West Virginia, and Brooklyn, NY. Since 2003, she had worked as the Permits Administrator for the City Clerk's Office of Encinitas, Ca. She had a lifelong love of art, animals, nature, and the healing-holistic arts. Throughout the years she created, and also collected, beautiful ceramics, artwork, photographs, and jewelry. She was devoted to her son, Alex, and often said that he was her proudest achievement. She touched the lives of so many loving friends and family who will miss her greatly. A memorial service will be held at a later time. It was her last wish to be cremated and to have her ashes scattered over the western ocean she came to love so much. Sign the Guest Book online
